Over the past week or so, there has been some very concerning letters sent to some companies involved with selling CBD rich hemp oil products online. Those letters were sourced from a regulatory body that governs what can and cannot be said when it comes to making claims about potential or perceived health benefits of consuming foods, drugs, or supplements. That formidable bureaucracy has three letters, and it spells the FDA.

The FDA was created out of the Bureau of Chemistry in 1927 as the Food, Drug, and Insecticide Administration, and it’s name shortened in 1930 to the Food and Drug Administration. This is the organization that is responsible for honesty and safety in our field of work, which is food products and supplements. Many laws have been created, such as the FDC Act of 1938. Protections have been put in place, such as the Public Health Service Act in 1944. All in the name of protecting consumers from unscrupulous and potentially misleading information regarding the safety, efficacy, and claimed health benefits of consuming products made for public consumption.

While no organization is perfect, they do their absolute best to product us from predatory companies, and some of those companies received letters asking that they perform the removal of information that set unhealthy expectations regarding the consumption of products similar to what we sell on our site by technically bringing a “New Drug” to market with the intended use in the mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease in humans and in animals.

Here is a list of warning letters issued by the FDA regarding those companies:

We do hope that this allows you as our customer to reaffirm that we are not able to make any comments regarding CBD rich hemp oil products in relation to any specific ailment, and we will continue to perform under FDA regulations regarding food products and supplements. We wish not to receive a letter similar to the above. We are not bringing a new drug to market. We are simply providing a quality and honest source of CBD rich hemp oil products, and promoting living a healthy lifestyle.

These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any disease. Always check with your physician before starting a new dietary supplement program.
